Description
for Saxophone Quartet
written in 2019
Embark on a sonic exploration of a dreamworld where the pursuit of something elusive unfolds against a backdrop of shifting scenes. Ever experienced the intensity of chasing a dream, only to be jolted awake by the hazy sound of an alarm clock? This composition captures precisely that—a dream where the object of your pursuit, once so near, slips away mysteriously.
The piece takes you through a journey of floating between dreamlike serenity and moments of urgency. Amidst the weightless drift, subtle kicks act as persistent alarms, signaling a discordant note in the dream narrative. Undeterred, you traverse through time, navigating the dream’s storyline. Suddenly, the elusive object reappears, igniting a renewed pursuit as you run and soar towards it.
As the dream reaches its zenith, the insistent ringing of the alarm clock intervenes, snapping you back to reality. This composition stays true to the original’s essence, offering a musical odyssey that mirrors the delicate dance between chasing dreams and the jarring return to the waking world.
