SiHyun Uhm's Mnemonic Dust for brass band received an honorable mention at the 2026 Young Composer Initiative, which drew over 80 entries from 10 countries.
Mnemonic Dust for brass band (2025) received an honorable mention at the 2026 Young Composer Initiative, hosted by New Mexico State University. This year's competition received over 80 entries from 10 countries; the winning piece was Where the stars once sang by Aaron Wendell. The remaining finalists recognized with honorable mentions were Cooper Wood (Anatomy of a Spark) and Jacob Stafford (Temporal Chaos).
