Splash of Colors

About the Work

Splash of Colors is a sequence of rhythmic patterns of varying lengths performed on top of a continuous beat. The shifting patterns are at times rhythmically aligned and at other times syncopated — like light passing through a prism producing individual strands of color and then merging again into a unified whole. Premiered at Juilliard's Beyond the Machine 21.0 (May 20, 2021), directed and choreographed by Matilda Sakamoto, with virtual art by Sabby Life.
