The Witch of Coös

About the Work

Based on Robert Frost's supernatural poem from 'New Hampshire', 'The Witch of Coös' recounts a mother and son's terrifying memory of the skeleton of a murdered man climbing up cellar stairs. Ghostly brass growls, rattling skeleton percussion (woodblocks, marimba, whip), and low cello scordatura heighten the narrator's chilling tale.
