About the Work

Yearning is an introspective meditation scored for full string orchestra. Rooted in the Korean cultural aesthetic of 'Han' (deep-seated sorrow and longing transformed into artistic beauty), the work builds from hushed, sustained sul tasto harmonics into sweeping, cathartic polyphonic arcs. The music continuously stretches outward, seeking resolution across fractured melodies before gently receding into stillness.
